Harpenden Classics on the Common

If you have never been and you live somewhere north of London, you have to go once just to experience the diversity of cars and bikes that attend. But if you go, apply early with a car - the only way to park anywhere nearby on the day is to have a classic car and park on the common (you must have a ticket to do this). Unless you arrive together there is no parking together or reserved spaces which is part of the fun. Bring a picnic and some deckchairs and chat to all the passers by or wander round the rows of cars and bikes looking for rarities. The town centre is right on your doorstep so pubs, coffee shops and restaurants are all within easy reach
