Round two of the 2026 Alpine ELF Cup Series season featured two fiercely contested races and several firsts at Circuit Dijon-Prenois. The Alpine A110 GT4+s extended their winning streak with two victories in the French FFSA GT Championship in front of 13,000 fans.
Six weeks after the season opener at Nogaro, the Alpine ELF Cup Series returned to the Circuit de Dijon-Prenois for the first time since 2023. The field confirmed the growing appeal of the series’ new format, with 19 drivers entered, including three from China and one from Hong Kong – significant firsts in the championship’s history.
The competitors were finding their feet on the Burgundy circuit in constantly changing conditions. Romain Monti and Paul Alberto set the initial pace on Friday, but qualifying went the way of the Schumacher GP #31 car. Winner of the Volant ELF Series by The Grid talent search for Sim racers, 16-year-old Lenny Kieffer claimed his maiden pole position on just his second race weekend. Shortly afterwards, his team-mate Julien Neveu marked his return to competition with his first pole in the Alpine ELF Cup Series since Silverstone in 2019.
Race 1: an historic first for Alberto and Rdest
On Saturday afternoon, Romain Monti and Paul Alberto took the lead from Lenny Kieffer on the opening lap. Paul Alberto continued his push to take the lead on lap three. Behind them, Matéo Herrero (Herrero Racing #25) challenged Alexandre Lopez (Chazel Technologie Course #123) for fourth place.
As the laps went by, Paul Alberto capitalised on the battle between his pursuers to build a comfortable lead ahead of the driver change window. During the pit stop phase, Paul Alberto handed over to Gosia Rdest, who began her stint with a seven-second advantage over David Barrere (Herrero Racing #25), but Rodolphe Wallgren quickly overtook him. Setting off in pursuit of the leader, Rodolphe Wallgren significantly reduced the gap before the race was neutralised until the finish following the retirement of Veenesh Shunker (Race Cars Consulting #33).
Paul Alberto and Gosia Rdest became the first male-female duo to win in the Alpine ELF Cup Series, whilst also securing their maiden victories in the series. Gosia Rdest also became the first woman to win in the Alpine A110 Cup since Lilou Wadoux at Portimão in 2021. Romain Monti – Rodolphe Wallgren and Matéo Herrero – David Barrère joined them on the podium.
Starting from pole, Lenny Kieffer and Julien Neveu finished fourth. Fifth but ineligible for points, Axel Constantin (Chazel Technologie Course #26) finished ahead of Alexandre Lopez – Frédéric de Brabant and Anthony Pisano – Julien Paget (Chazel Technologie Course #09), who were penalised for jumping the start. Zhou Yiran – Lo Kwan Kit (Chazel Technologie Course #22) and Yuan Yang Ze Shi – Liu Tai Ji (Code Racing Development #37) followed in that order.
Race 2: Monti and Wallgren by 0.085s
Under threatening skies on Sunday, the second race got off to a blistering start. Julien Neveu initially had the advantage, but Julien Paget, then Rodolphe Wallgren took the lead of a very compact field alongside the GT4s over the next laps. Starting fourth on the grid, Gosia Rdest also fought her way up to take the lead on lap nine before the race was neutralised following an incident resulting in David Barrere being beached trapped in the gravel.
Still leading after the restart, Gosia Rdest led a group of five cars covered by less than three seconds as the driver change window opened. After the flurry of pit stops, her team-mate Paul Alberto emerged at the sharp end of the order ahead of Romain Monti. Behind them, Axel Constantin passed Lenny Kieffer under the watchful eye of Anthony Pisano before two consecutive safety car periods.
When the race resumed, Paul Alberto and Romain Monti found themselves in a head-to-head battle for victory during a one-lap final shootout. Romain Monti forced his opponent into a mistake before holding him off by just 0.085s. Behind them, the battle for the podium was just as intense. Lenny Kieffer snatched third place from Axel Constantin. Lying in wait, Anthony Pisano completed the top five, followed by Alexandre Lopez. The crews of Yuan Yang Ze Shi – Liu Tai Ji, Matéo Herrero – David Barrère and Zhou Yiran – Lo Kwan Kit completed the order.
Alpine still unbeaten in FFSA GT
The Alpine A110 GT4+ continued its run of success in the FFSA GT French Championship. Lukas Papin (Schumacher GP) and Rudy Servol (Race Cars Consulting) shared the pole positions, whilst the victories went to the crews of Lukas Papin and Jérémy Corsin on Saturday and Léo Jousset and Rudy Servol on Sunday. Laurent Hurgon and Lazare Lartigau (Chazel Technologie Course) finished on the podium in race one as well. Lukas Papin and Jérémy Corsin now lead the general classification. Meanwhile, Stéphane Auriacombe and Stéphane Lémeret (CMR) secured a double podium finish in the Alpine A110 GT4 Evo to retain the lead in the Am Cup.
The weekend was also paced by the Alpine Village, where the 13,000 spectators at Dijon were able to discover the world and range of the A-arrow brand, including supervised test drives of the Alpine A290 and Alpine A390.
Direction Spa-Francorchamps
With a win and runner-up result each, the duos Romain Monti – Rodolphe Wallgren, and Paul Alberto – Gosia Rdest leave Côte-d’Or with the gap between them unchanged: the former pair hold a 14-point lead. 32 points further back, Matéo Herrero and David Barrere lead a chase group determined to end Chazel Technologie Course’s winning streak this season at the next round at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (19–21 June).
